Captur, based in London, pioneers in creating state of the art image recognition tools tailored for industries such as logistics, transportation and automotive. Their innovative solution empowers businesses to utilise smartphone cameras for specialised image recognition tasks. One such example is a delivery driver using a smartphone camera to verify that a package is at the right address. Captur claims this can reduce fraud by up to 40%.

Leading the seed round was Sure Valley Ventures, with significant contributions from existing investors MMC Ventures, Ascension Ventures, Two Culture Capital, and of course, our team at Concept Ventures.

Since inception, Captur has made significant strides in the micromobility space. A noteworthy collaboration with the rapid delivery startup, Zapp in London, has transformed the way fleet riders maintain their vehicles. The innovative approach has allowed riders to monitor vehicle condition using QR codes, effectively replacing conventional manual logging methods. This seed round will be used by Captur to scale its technology across new sectors, including retail. The company plans to launch in the US early next year.

Charlotte Bax, Founder and CEO

Founder and CEO, Charlotte Bax, incubated Captur through Google for Startups, where she was part of the esteemed Female Founder Resident program. “In the delivery domain, companies could be incurring costs up to $20m per year on refunds and customer support, in addition to a frustrating experience for their customers” remarked Bax.

As supporters of Captur’s vision, we at Concept Ventures eagerly await the myriad innovations they’re set to introduce to the world.
