Arondite Raises $12m from Index Ventures, Concept Double-down

At Concept Ventures, we’re proud to back European founders building large, important companies. Today, we’re excited to share our investment in Arondite, a company building the infrastructure for safe, scalable human-machine teaming in the age of autonomy.

Arondite has just announced a $10M Seed round led by Index Ventures, following a previously undisclosed $2.25M pre-seed we co-led alongside Creator Fund. We’re proud to have partnered with Will and Rob since the earliest days, and delighted to continue our partnership with them as they build the operating system for the next generation of autonomous systems.

The Future of Autonomy Needs a Human Touch

Organisations are rapidly adopting autonomous systems across defence, security, and critical infrastructure: drones, ground robots, and AI-powered sensors. But today, these machines often operate in silos, offering little visibility or coordination for the people ultimately responsible for them.

As a result, critical information is lost, operational risks increase, and the real potential of human-machine collaboration remains untapped.

Arondite is solving this. Their platform acts as the connective tissue between autonomous systems, enabling human operators to maintain oversight, control, and decision-making power, even as machine deployment scales.

Rather than replacing humans, Arondite empowers them: giving operators richer data, clearer operational pictures, and safer, faster decision cycles.

Founders Who Understand the Stakes

Arondite’s mission is deeply personal to its founders. Will Blyth (CEO) spent years serving as a British Army officer before joining Palantir and Helsing, two companies at the forefront of operational intelligence. Rob Underhill (CTO) brings world-class technical expertise, having led engineering teams at BAE Systems and as a founding engineer at Garrison Technology.

Both have seen first-hand what happens when systems don't talk to each other - and the life-and-death consequences that can follow. The teams’ combined experience uniquely positions Arondite to bridge the gap between ambitious autonomy goals and the realities of operating in mission-critical environments.

As Will says:

"We are deeply mindful of the responsibility to ensure AI tools are built in a way that ensures humans retain control. It’s not enough for these systems to be powerful; they have to be worthy of the values they are designed to protect."

Why We Invested

We believe the rise of autonomous systems is inevitable, but autonomy at scale will only succeed if trust, safety, and human judgment are preserved.

But most importantly, we look for founder-market fit. In reality, this extends beyond just those who have the technical ability; it involves hard-earned insight, superpowers in attracting world-class talent, and the capacity for selling and building trust with customers - all in the name of creating an enduring company.

What’s Next

With the new funding, Arondite will:

  • Scale their engineering team and accelerate product development

  • Expand pilot deployments with defence, security, and critical infrastructure partners

  • Continue to deepen AI capabilities for operational insights and human-machine collaboration

We’re incredibly excited for what’s ahead, and know the team are building one of Europe’s most important companies. Arondite is more than just software - they’re building trust, control, and safety into a future increasingly shaped by machines.

Arondite is on the journey to become a leading European company, building trust, control, and safety for a future driven by machines - in the pursuit of the above, they’re assembling one of the most capable and impressive teams and hiring top talent today! A warm (and overdue) welcome to the Concept Ventures family, Will, Rob, and the entire Arondite team! 🚀
